The changing world of work, as well as economic pressures, has intensified pressures on employers to maintain efficiency in an increasingly competitive and customer driven market. CSP members are faced with constant change in the form of restructuring, re-organisation of work such as extended hours’ services, down-banding, AQP, outsourcing, procurement, mergers, competitive tendering, and redundancy. Employee engagement is critical if organisations are to weather the changes effectively, and members must have a voice in the workplace if they are to participate in change, rather than be the victims of change.
