Home visits, Neurology inc Stroke, MS, Older people's care
I qualified with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy in 1999 and have been working as a Specialist Neurological physiotherapist for the past 20 years. I have successfully completed a 3 week Bobath course and have a strong commitment to ongoing post graduate training and ensuring I deliver the best, evidence based practice.
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated therapist who is passionate about enabling people to achieve their goals, maximise their independence and improve their health and wellbeing. I have extensive experience in treating a wide range of neurological conditions including acute, traumatic and long term progressive conditions (eg stroke, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, head injury, spinal injury, Guillian Barre syndrome , neuropathy, cerebral palsy, Motor Neuron Disease, brain tumour, dystonia & functional neurological disorder).
Additionally, I am also able to offer expert advice and treatment for falls and more general rehabilitation following illness, surgery or a recent hospital stay to help regain function.
I provide specialist neurological assessment and treatment in your own home, including care homes and day centres. If desired, I am also very happy to carry out treatment sessions at your local gym or swimming pool to provide a tailored exercise programme.
I am based in Watford but able to travel across Hertfordshire and NW London.
I offer a flexible treatment approach depending upon your needs; whether it be a course of treatment to maintain or improve your current mobility, planned reviews, advice whilst you are waiting for NHS treatment or information on how you can self manage your condition with confidence.
I have excellent knowledge of local NHS and community support services across West Hertfordshire and so am able to sign post you when appropriate.
I am always happy to discuss your rehabilitation needs on the telephone prior to booking an initial assessment.
I am AXA, Aviva and Vitality Health registered, a member of the Health Professions Council (HPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and ACPIN (Association of Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology).
