Iain has been a physiotherapist since 1983 graduating from the Bradford School of Physiotherapy going on to work in the National Health Service for 31 years, 22 of which was spent as a Community Physiotherapist in Keighley.
Towards the end of Iain’s time in the NHS he became increasingly involved with Ultra6. This team consists of athletes who undertake ultra-endurance events to raise money for charity. Such feats as traveling from Land’s End to John O’Groats by running a marathon in the morning then cycling 100miles in the afternoon, this challenge was the start of Iain’s journey supporting ultra-endurance athletes, falling in love with physiotherapy again.
Since this Iain has looked after Ultra 6 in multiple further events even going on to break world records in aid of charity, completing one himself. He has looked after Spine Race athletes and other Lands End to John O’Groats athletes. Iain opened Iain Harris PhysioSolutions) in 2015 in Cross Hills, this then became Iain’s home from home. His dream became a reality, creating a practice that had a family feel to it, were patient’s problems were understood and treatment plans developed around that individual but also allowing Iain to support our next generation of athletes who spend a lot of money on equipment and training for there chosen’s sport but not necessarily enough to spend on the support side of things.
This is when Iain decided to create our sponsorship program, in which the practice looks after these athletes to ensure that they are able to give 100% in competition. Iain treats his sponsored and non-sponsored clients alike, using multiple treatment methods to create the best treatment plan for that individual, this being a collaborative process between the client and Iain.
