Somatic Physiotherapy combines the practice of Physiotherapy and Somatic Experiencing, enabling you to explore how your own body can adapt and overcome pain. It is a unique combination of techniques that supports the nervous system which controls the way in which we move and the level of pain we feel.
Combining both practices enables me to understand the nature of your pain. Physiotherapy can safely be guided by your clinical symptoms whereas Somatic Experiencing delves deeper and explores the underlying factors that may prevent the resolution of your chronic pain.
Pain exists for a number of reasons and we also experience pain differently from each other. Somatic Physiotherapy aims to understand and address the unique experience you have with pain. In doing so, it will greatly contribute to your recovery and allow you to build the resilience to move with ease and have the capacity to allow joyful activities back into your life.
