Library Online Catalogue

The Library Online Catalogue includes details of books and e-books, journals and e-journals, theses, e-documents (grey literature produced by non-commercial bodies), historical images and CSP publications (current and archived).

Searching the online library catalogue

To start your search, enter a few words to describe what you are looking for in the Keyword(s) field, and then press Enter or the Search button. 

Note: The Online Library Catalogue now uses a breadcrumb trail is a navigation aid. This allows you move back through your searches and the results. The breadcrumb trail is under the top menu bar. The Back Button should be greyed out.

Once you have your results you can refine your search by using the Filters (sometimes called Limiters or Facets) on the left of the screen. You can filter by:

  • subject
  • format
  • publication date
  • copy Location;
  • author
  • classmarks or
  • e-resources

On the right of the screen, at the top of list of results, you can re-sort the results and you can select how many you want to see per page.

You can now reserve items for borrowing in both the short records and the full records.

As in the previous catalogue, the first results displayed are short records. Click on a title to access the full details.

On the right of the screen are a number of choices.

The default setting displays Availability. You can also see:

  • Related items
  • Contents (previously, contents were included in the abstract)
  • Abstract
  • Other information
  • Also borrowed
  • Ratings and reviewed
  • Tags

What journals does the CSP hold?

  • Select a Title search from the Search Options on the top menu
  • Tick the Serials (=Journals) Filter on the left hand side and enter % in the Title search

This will give you a complete list of all the journals to which we subscribe and many other relevant open access titles.
