The University of Edinburgh’s highly regarded FASIC Sport & Exercise Medicine Clinic is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist Sports / MSK Physiotherapist to play a hybrid role across our Performance Sport Programme and Clinic Services
The Opportunity:
The Specialist Sports / MSK Physiotherapist will take responsibility for applying musculo-skeletal and sports clinical skills to develop and implement strategies to manage, prevent injury, and develop performance with our athletes, in the clinic and sport setting, acting in support of our Performance Medical Lead. You will work alongside sports specific technical coaches, strength & conditioning specialists and other support services, to provide the best possible clinical care to the University’s leading student athletes and help them achieve success at the highest level in their chosen sports https://www.ed.ac.uk/sport-exercise/performance.
The successful candidate will also work as part of FASIC’s multi-disciplinary team {physiotherapy, massage therapy, podiatry, medical, pilates} working with staff, students and members of our local and sporting community to manage injury, evolve performance services and testing protocols for sports injury management, and pre and post surgical rehabilitation. Working at our Clinic locations which may include Pleasance Sport Complex & Gym, Peffermill Playing Fields, Easter Bush Campus and FASIC East Lothian, you may be expected to move between facilities to support staff and operational delivery, during any clinic opening hours (working 5 days of 7) or performance programme operating hours. Working unsociable hours will be a feature of this role, as will some travel in support of requests from our Performance Programme Teams or Sports Governing Bodies to provide support for Team Travel or Match Day Pitch-side Support.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Minimum 3 years post registration Physiotherapy experience
- Evidence of working within sport & exercise or MSK clinic environment i.e. NHS, club physiotherapist, academy roles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with Inter-disciplinary team
