Here you’ll be welcomed. We champion diversity and we understand the importance of our people representing the communities and customers we serve. You’ll find an inclusive environment where you can be yourself and where everyone is driven by the same purpose – helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives.

Our purpose has never been more important than during Covid-19. Our approach to keeping our people, customers, visitors and patients safe, is clinically-led and in line with public health guidance. We’ve implemented effective remote working/interviewing and safety measures across all our offices, care homes and clinical locations and we will continue to review our operating practices as the situation changes.

At Bupa, you’ll have the freedom to develop new lines of care, with the flexibility and development opportunities to push your career further.

As a Therapist, you’ll be eager to continue learning and building skills while working with talented colleagues.

 Role Overview:

We are recruiting for a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist to provide client-centred and evidence-based assessments, treatment and discharge planning to a varied paediatric caseload, mostly musculoskeletal, neurological and developmental patients.

The caseload may include patients with respiratory or complex needs, and you will be responsible for equipment fitting, as well as ongoing staff training. You will receive referrals for both inpatients and outpatients from the ward, consultants and GPs as well as via other external routes.

This role requires you to be a competent and keen paediatric physiotherapist with the ability to undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and establish and maintain efficient communication within the MDT to ensure a holistic and complete duty of care.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a resource of specialist advice for patients, clients and colleagues within the scope of your experience and knowledge and participate in the overall day to day management and development of the Therapy Department and your area of speciality to ensure an efficient and safe service for all.
  • Provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to an inpatient and outpatient caseload which mostly consists of children with orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, but may also include neurodevelopmental, neurological or respiratory referrals.
  • Work flexibly during the week to accommodate before and after school appointments for patients, within reason. You will have an opportunity to participate in the ad-hoc paediatric weekend service.
  • Establish and maintain efficient communication within the multi-disciplinary team (both internal and external). This includes verbal, non-verbal or written communication, both in expression and active listening, to facilitate accurate comprehension of information.
  • Practise  as  an  autonomous  and  accountable  professional  using  reflective  practise  and  clinical reasoning  in  undertaking  specialist  assessment  in  order  to  provide  an  individualised  treatment programme for each patient.

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Proven experience in paediatric MSK and orthopaedics
  • Good timekeeping but prepared to be flexible
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
  • Confidence and enthusiasm

That’s why we’re happy to offer reasonable adjustments as part of our recruitment process to anyone that needs them.
