Vacancy details

Sheffield Hallam University is one of the largest providers of physiotherapy education in the UK, with around 550 pre and post-registration students currently studying with us. We have taught physiotherapy for over 50 years and we have extensive experience of teaching UK, EU and international students.

The new career and training opportunities for physiotherapy are developing at pace, and here at Sheffield Hallam we are matching those opportunities with new courses and modules. Funding from Health Education England is supporting our delivery of bespoke and credit bearing training to enhance the skills of musculoskeletal physiotherapists. We are therefore keen to recruit a senior lecturer who has experience working in such an enhanced role and would like to be part of this exciting advancement of our profession.

As well as teaching pre and post-registration students, you will collaborate with colleagues from nursing, diagnostic radiography to develop, validate and deliver curriculum which will support MSK physiotherapists to becoming first contact practitioners. You will engage and inspire our students using our state-of-the-art facilities - such as our 3D virtual reality suite and simulation mannequins - and integrated teaching areas, to provide an exciting and stimulating learning environment.

You will have:

  • HCPC registration.
  • Well-developed and up-to-date knowledge of the MSK physiotherapy landscape, including advanced practice and first contact roles.
  • Awareness of current developments in health care and education.
  • Experience of teaching outside of departmental in service training.

We offer a range of excellent benefits including 35 days annual leave per year (pro rata) alongside statutory holidays and up to 6 extra days each year for extended University closure.

Closing date: 28 April 2019 at 23:30.

We particularly welcome applicants from black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) applicants who are underrepresented in this area.

For non-EU applicants, we may be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job if required.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
