Physiotherapist – part time required at our Midlands Clinic, Burton-Upon-Trent, UK

Highly Competitive Salary/Package dependent on experience

Dorset Orthopaedic Company is an independent provider of prosthetic, orthotic, silicone and rehabilitation services. We pride ourselves in continually seeking to understand clients' unique requirements and deliver individual personalised attention. It's this bespoke service and attention to detail that has gained us our reputation for quality and personalised service for almost 30 years. We are pleased to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as a Prosthetist at Dorset Orthopaedic (part of the OttoBock Group), a leading independent clinical provider of prosthetic and orthotic services across the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist who is seeking to work in amputee rehabilitation. Dorset Orthopaedic is a Private Prosthetics and Rehabilitation company with clinics distributed over the UK.

The main role of the successful candidate would be to provide 1:1 residential rehabilitation alongside the Prosthetists and other Physiotherapists. This consists of a full musculoskeletal screening, compiling detailed problem list and goal setting. Planning treatment, and providing appropriate rehabilitation. As well as working alongside Prosthetists to ensure optimum set up of prostheses and gait re-education.

A typical week with our residential rehabilitation clients would consist of manual therapy, electrical stimulation, gait re-education, massage, exercise prescription, hydrotherapy, pain education, outdoor rehab, return to activities, balance and co-ordination training, cardio and gym training, behaviour change for health and wellbeing, and measuring objective and subjective markers. Our rehabilitation is one of the few residential programmes available to non-military amputees.

Previous experience with amputees or Prosthetics, though desirable, is not essential. As the role requires predominantly musculoskeletal rehabilitation skills and assessment. Training on the various prostheses and specific rehabilitation will be provided.

Dorset Orthopaedic is passionate about pioneering prosthetic rehabilitation and we wish to recruit a Physiotherapist who is keen to develop our service, is enthusiastic about evidence based practice and can add to the skills of the rehab team.

Essential Requirements:

 BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy

 Current HCPC Registration

The successful candidate will be required to:

 Deliver 25hrs of 1:1 residential rehab in a typical a week

 Provide outpatient Physiotherapy as required

 Liaise with management team, case managers and solicitors

 Record and update medical records

 Work alone and alongside a multi-disciplinary team

 Deliver hydrotherapy sessions

 Design and deliver appropriate exercise sessions

 Record outcome measures and contribute to auditing, research and development
