An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 community Specialist Physiotherapist in SouthamptonCity learning disability team.

 

This position is to support the current physiotherapy team to look at providing specialist assessment, intervention and advice to adults with learning disabilities and their carers in Southampton.  The post holder will be responsible for the running of their own physiotherapy caseload with the support of the Band 7 who will manage complex cases.

 

The individual must have excellent communication skills which can be adapted to this client group. A good understanding in working with people with complex physical health, 24-hour postural management and hydrotherapy is required.  The post requires an ability to work in a dynamic vibrant multi-disciplinary team and represent physiotherapy and an ability to liaise with other health professionals and agencies is essential

 

The post holder will receive line-management and supervision from the Band 7 physiotherapist. There are opportunities for in-service training – both receiving and delivering and Southern Health NHS foundation Trust support continuing professional development.

 

Applicants will be CRB checked and must have appropriate registration with both CSP and HPC. A full-driving licence and access to a car is essential.
