Vacancy details

Connect Health is the largest specialised independent provider of community musculoskeletal (MSK) services in the UK, serving over 300k NHS patients per year and 100+ businesses. We are dedicated in delivering the highest level of patient care, in the most efficient and cost-effective way, with re-investment to ensure services are sustainable. We put our three key stakeholders – patients, tax payers and our colleagues – at the heart of every decision we make.

"The best thing about Connect? For me it’s the opportunities to develop”

Connect Health have been asked to provide and manage the delivery of the MSK Service on behalf of Croydon CCG. Our aim is to build on the success of the previous service through application of our specialist MSK supportive infrastructure. We expect the service to grow and as such are looking for skilled, motivated and passionate clinical staff to join the existing team in delivering a fantastic, innovative local service to the people of Croydon. Our philosophy of care is based on patient empowerment; ensuring all people have timely access to the right information that allows them to self-manage or make informed and shared decisions about their future care needs. We support staff to understand the importance of a BPS, evidence-informed approach which has shared decision making at its heart as well as a focus on activity/exercise.

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic, well-organised, ambitious Physiotherapists to join our team within our newly commissioned MSK service in Croydon. Whilst undertaking comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical and emotional needs, you will formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes and ensure effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge are achieved. The role may involve delivering telephone subjective assessments, running group sessions, delivering exercise rehabilitation out of local gyms and providing face to face physiotherapy sessions.

This role will incorporate our Accelerated Development Programme (ADP) which has been designed to enable Physiotherapist’s to develop a high level of knowledge of the evidence-based management of MSK conditions, and improved competence and confidence in clinical reasoning in relation to MSK pathologies. You’ll be fully supported as you progress through the accelerated development programme and receive expert guidance and regular supervision as well as our standard In-Service Training (IST) programme.

The programme consists of weekly 3 hour sessions of teaching (within contracted hours), delivered in a relaxed and informal manner. There is a large practical element as well as time for discussion, clinical reasoning and patient case reflection within the group. At the end of the programme a formal assessment will be conducted and, if passed, will facilitate further development opportunities as per our career pathways.

About You

You’ll be positive, constructive and approachable, along with being registered with the HCPC, a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and a fully qualified Physiotherapist. We’re looking for you to manage a varied caseload of MSK patients, as well as the ability to work under pressure and being committed to CPD. As this role includes our Accelerated Development Programme it’s likely that you’ll be relatively new to the profession, and/or seeking to develop specifically in the field of MSK.

You should have the desire to facilitate improvement in yourself and the service. You will have excellent and confident communication skills with both patients and colleagues alike.  You may have experience of working within the NHS, Public or Private Sector, bringing transferrable skills to Connect.
