Vacancy details

Northants Rural Primary Care Network has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to work within the GP practices of our forward thinking PCN. The successful candidate will join our growing PCN MSK team which currently includes 2 First Contact Physios, a First Contact Podiatrist and 2 specialist MSK GPs. We also have strong links with the local Secondary Care team. We are looking for an additional enthusiastic experienced physiotherapist to deliver high quality integrated care for our patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The successful candidate will work primarily within a dispensing practice in a patient facing role, providing true first contact physiotherapy with the option to treat and follow up selected patients also.

Ideally this would be a single applicant, who would primarily be based in Greens Norton and Byfield. However, we are open to providing flexible working opportunities and it may be possible to facilitate part time working with two separate roles across the PCN.

Southwest Northamptonshire is a great place to live and work. There is a lovely balance of open countryside with good facilities, and transport links; there are excellent schools nearby. Our rural and semi-rural communities are actively engaged with their healthcare and are rewarding to work with.

Northants Rural PCN is an actively engaged Primary Care Network working across 5 practices sites on the edge of Northamptonshire: Guilsbourgh, Crick, Long Buckby, Weedon, Greens Norton and Byfield. We pride ourselves on our innovative approach to primary care and receive excellent patient feedback. We enjoy collaboration and are excited by the opportunities that come from working within a Primary Care Network.

You will be supported and encouraged to develop your skills and role throughout. You will already be confident working independently, however you will be supported by a GP colleague in each session, and you will have weekly mentorship sessions with one of our MSK GPs. Independent or Supplemental prescribing qualifications are not required although they are desirable. If such qualifications are not possessed we would be happy to support your further training where required.

We welcome applications from Physiotherapists working in all sectors of healthcare.

The successful candidate will have completed a BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy; as well as being a registered member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and are able to operate at an advanced level of practice. Ideally you should be able to demonstrate working at Level 7 capability in MSK areas of practice or equivalent (such as advanced assessment diagnosis and treatment). We welcome informal discussion should you wish to discuss this further.

This post is subject to a disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and successful references. There is flexibility with start dates for the right candidate.
