Frontline journalists

A guide to the journalists and editors of the CSP's online news and Frontline magazine.

Gill Hitchcock is a staff writer for Frontline and the CSP’s website, and a freelance journalist and editor. She has a special interest in opportunities for physiotherapists created by informatics and the new commissioning landscape, and the challenges of public spending cuts. Gill was an assistant editor at Guardian News and Media, writing about public sector technology, healthcare and social care. @GillHitchcock.

Robert Millett has worked for the CSP since 2010. He writes articles and news stories for the magazine and the society’s website. He is interested in a broad range of health issues and was previously employed by a complementary health charity, where he worked on a quarterly magazine for therapists. Prior to this he worked at the London School of Economics where he wrote articles for the university’s monthly newsletter.

Gary Henson is our news editor, a role which includes writing and editing stories and setting the news agenda for Frontline and the CSP's website. A New Zealander with a deep commitment to trade unionism and social change, Gary came to Britain for the Great Miner's Strike in the mid 1980s and the struggle by print unions at Wapping. He has worked at the NZ Press Association, local newspapers all over north London and more recently Health Service Journal and Local Government Chronicle where he led the news development of their websites. Gary is a big fan and vocal advocate of physiotherapy having had rehabilitation for a fractured fibula by the expert team at the Royal Free hospital and ongoing treatment for a variety of sports injuries at Tatami.
