Associate membership for students will provide access to employment and legal support from the CSP in relation to their paid work. Professional liability insurance is not included if working outside of physiotherapy.

AHP student bank employment

NHS Health Education England (HEE) recently published a letter stating that allied health professionals (AHP) students can voluntarily sign up for paid work to support NHS frontline clinical services.

CSP chief executive Karen Middleton said: ‘While the option for students to gain part-time employment as healthcare support workers and assistants is not new, as of this month, HEE are again encouraging NHS organisations to employ AHP students, where needed, as part of the current response to Covid-19.'

This additional employment would be paid and will not count towards placement hours.

CSP Council also approved a three-month fee waiver for student members switching to student associate.
