Wanted: physios to contribute to campaign development

The CSP is working on a publicity campaign encouraging people with long-term health conditions to do strengthening and balancing exercises more regularly, and we’d like your help.

We have commissioned an independent market research agency, BritainThinks, to conduct some research to inform the campaign. As well as interviewing people with long-term health conditions to understand their attitudes, behaviours and experiences, the agency team are planning focus groups with physiotherapy staff to understand their views, and tap into their considerable expertise and knowledge, which will help to inform that campaign.

We are inviting physios to take part in these focus groups. There are four sessions in total, each lasting 75 minutes, and led by an experienced researcher from BritainThinks. Two are in central London and two are in Leeds city centre.

Tuesday 3 March in London

  • Focus group 1: 5 – 6.15pm
  • Focus group 2: 6.30 – 7.45pm

Wednesday 4 March in Leeds

  • Focus group 3: 5 – 6.15pm
  • Focus group 4: 6.30 – 7.45pm

Ideally, there will be around five participants in each session: a diverse mix of physiotherapists with a range of specialisms, levels of experience and backgrounds.

The sessions will be informal and you won’t need to prepare anything in advance. Everything you say during the session will be completely confidential and nothing you say will be attributed to you.

As a thank you for giving up their valuable time to contribute to this important project and to cover any travel expenses, participants will receive a payment of £75 at the end of the session.

If you are interested in participating in a focus group, please complete this short questionnaire to ensure you are eligible and indicate your interest. If you have any questions about the research, please contact strength@csp.org.uk
