Accessibility and inclusion information for the CSP Annual Conference 2024.
On this page:
Conference code of conduct
To ensure that every attendee feels welcome and safe, we have a conference code of conduct that we expect everyone to adhere to.
Online programme
The conference programme is accessible to view online. You can navigate across the three days, different rooms, content of the sessions and speakers.
Conference app
The CSP Annual Conference 2024 App is available to download on Android and iOS devices. It contains information on the programme, speakers, exhibition and venue.
Online poster system
The online poster system is available to all delegates, in person or online and the link will be shared via email. It will be open for three months after the event. You can view posters in your own time, zoom in on content, comment and contact poster authors. The posters can be downloaded in PDF format.
In-person event accessibility
The conference is being held at Manchester Central Convention Centre, and we will be using the Charter Foyer entrance.
Manchester Central venue website has dedicated accessibility information that covers:
- Getting to the venue and parking
- Accessing the venue
- Wheelchair access
- Hearing impairments
- Assistance dogs
- Toilets
- First aid
- Prayer room
- Quiet room
In addition to the hearing loop in the auditorium, there will be one available in Charter 1.
Reserved seating
Seats will be reserved at the front for attendees with sight or hearing impairments and presenters. Seats will also be reserved on an aisle, near an exit in each room for any delegates with service dogs wanting to use them. If a seat is not available and required because of an accessibility requirement, please speak to a member of staff who will be able to assist you.
Sight impairments
We will have seating reserved at the front should you wish to sit near the speakers. If you require session content to view on a personal device due to a sight impairment, please email us at conference@csp.org.uk with the sessions you plan to attend by 3 October 2024 and we can provide this for you. Speech to text captions will be available on screen in all rooms excluding the networking zone and demo area.
Large print programme
A printed programme with a large font will be available to pick up at registration if you requested this when you booked your ticket.
Babies
Babies are welcome at the conference, and you will have access to a changing places toilet. Pushchairs and prams can be parked in the cloakroom. If you need a private space to breastfeed or pump, please let the reception desk know so they can provide a room for you.
We understand that babies can make noise, and just ask that if a session is being disrupted that you take your baby out of the session for a short while. If you are presenting and bringing a baby, we ask that you identify someone who can care for your baby while you are presenting.
Food and drink
You will have been asked about dietary requirements when you booked your ticket. All dietary requirements we are informed about will be catered for and the food labelled clearly. If you have any questions, a member of the catering staff will be available to help.
If your dietary requirements have changed since you completed your booking, please inform us at conference@csp.org.uk.
Additional support
If you require any additional support – for example, assistance when arriving or moving between rooms – please let us know so we can arrange this for you. We will always have staff at the registration/information desk should you need anything.

Zoom events
The event is hosted on Zoom Events. You can turn on live captions by clicking the show captions icon (CC). Zoom Events is also compatible with screen readers. However, the shared video content may not be. If you require presentations in advance, please let us know by 3 October so that the sessions you plan to watch are sent to you.
