East Mids members are empowered to influence in the region

by Catherine Chappell

More than 80 members from the East Midlands enjoyed a free event organised by the CSP East Midlands Regional Network event in July which focussed on influencing Sustainability Transformation Plans (STPs) in the region.

The event was designed to empower CSP members to better exert influence in the region. During the event delegates were set a thinking differently challenge to work on over the next five months leading up to the next regional event on Wednesday 29 November. The challenge focussed on ‘how to engage with and influence my STP’.

During the event members were helped and encouraged to identify other members from their local area with a view to staying in touch virtually throughout the summer and working as a team sharing news and updates on their challenge progress.

Speakers included Karen Middleton, CSP Chief Executive, who have an inspiring talk on the CSP members’ role influencing Sustainability Transformation Plans. Steve Tolan, CSP Head of Practice, presented on Valuable Productivity and Jack March from @TPMPodcast presented on communicating the clinical effectiveness and value of physiotherapy.

The Twitter #CSPexertinginlfuence was buzzing throughout the event. Log on to Twitter, search for the hashtag and view the comments throughout the day. Event slides can be found online on the East Midlands iCSP pages.

Lucy Cocker, CSP East Midlands Regional Network Co-Chair, said: “We hope that delegates left the event feeling enabled to have more impact in the delivery of health and social care in the East Midlands. We are looking forward to hearing about their progress between now and November. I’m proud that the Regional Network is fast becoming a key a hub for active members to come together to promote physiotherapy and influence healthcare decision makers. If you want to get involved, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch!”
