Allied health professionals will have the chance to learn first hand about how to implement self referral, in a series of one-day CSP events this month and next.
A local champion in each of the strategic health authority regions will help delegates to challenge ideas and stimulate thinking about the subject. ‘Clinicians and clinical managers who want to improve their service will find the day helps them to understand the value of self referral in the context of national policy and to develop a local implementation plan,’ said CSP professional adviser Ruth ten Hove. Specifically, the event aims to help AHPs: • be aware of the political and social context of self referral for AHPs • know how to address practical issues arising from implementation in the workplace • be aware of how data collection tools can demonstrate the value and impact of self referral • be aware of a range of national tools that support innovative ideas • know about a range of self referral models applicable to different local circumstances • identify key steps to implementation of self referral and develop their own action plan.
