A free place for a final year undergraduate student to attend the occupational health physiotherapy conference in Glasgow on 6-7 May is available.
The prize, offered by The Osmond Group, ergonomic office furniture suppliers, includes full conference and accommodation costs and a contribution towards travel. The conference theme is ‘Fit to work – work to fit’ and guest speaker Dr Steve Boorman will present the findings of his recent review of the health and well-being of the NHS workforce. Applicants will be asked to write a short summary on why they wish to attend and how their attendance will be of benefit in their future practice. The successful applicant will also be asked to write a short article about the conference for the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics newsletter. ACPOHE public relations officer Pauline Cole said: ‘The importance of physiotherapy in the occupational health field continues to grow as the government, employers and employees recognise the benefits that OH physiotherapy can bring.’
