New chair leads acupuncture association

The CSP’s largest professional network, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, has a new chair.

Vivienne Fort is to step into the role after its former chair, Merian Denning, stepped down.

Mrs Denning became chair of the association, which has more than 6,000 members, in 2009. Her resignation, before the end of her three-year term in May 2012, was reported on the society’s interactiveCSP in July.

Mrs Denning told Frontline she was going with her husband on a sabbatical to Japan, Guadeloupe, India and Uganda.

‘There’s nothing negative about it and there’s no conflict,’ she said. She will remain on the board.

The AACP became a limited company in 2006.

‘In Vivienne Fort we have a vigorous new chair who has stepped into her place and the board is up to full strength,’ said CEO Gregory Byrne.

Ms Fort runs VCF Physiotherapy, in Peterborough.
