Lecturer: Andrew Cuff BSc (Hons) MSc SRP MCSP
Andrew holds a number of clinical posts and positions across both the public and private sector. He is a Consultant Physiotherapist for Connect Health with accountability for eight integrated community MSK, rheumatology and pain services across the North of England.
Alongside his clinical positions, Andrew is an active researcher studying for a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University and has published numerous articles in the Musculoskeletal domain.
Andrew has presented his research at both national and international scientific meetings and conferences. Previously at the University of Warwick, Andrew now lecturers on Red Flags within the First Contact Practitioner (FCP) course at Bradford University. Andrew is both a supervisor, and trainer of supervisors for FCPs and Advanced Practitioners.

Who is this course suitable for?
Due to the changing nature of MSK service delivery, this course is suitable for all musculoskeletal practitioners. It will be particularly useful to first contact practitioners, aspiring Advanced Practice clinicians within MSK/Orthopaedic triage or experienced APPs looking for an update.
Case studies are used to aid transfer of theory into practice with a focus on the development of Clinical Reasoning. There is a strong focus on ‘Systems Thinking’ to help clinicians identify those non-Musculoskeletal conditions that may be masquerading as such.

- Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression
- Neurological Red Flags – including Myelopathy
- Vascular Red Flags – including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
- Traumatic Red Flags – including Fractures
- Infective Red Flags – including Pyogenic and Non-Pyogenic
- Inflammatory Flags – including Axial SpA
- Advanced Clinical Examination of the Vascular and Neurological Systems
CPD: 7.5 hours
