Red Flags, Serious Spinal Pathology & Systems Thinking

29th January 2021

Venue: London Road Community Hospital, Derby.

Lecturer: Andrew Cuff BSc (Hons) MSc SRP MCSP    Ref: 2866

Andrew holds a number of clinical posts and positions across both the public and private sector. He is a Developing Consultant Physiotherapist and Clinical Lead in both the Wakefield Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service and the North Kirklees MSK Service for Connect Health.

Alongside his clinical positions, Andrew is an active researcher studying for a PhD at Keele University and has published numerous articles in the Musculoskeletal domain and is a proud author for the Cochrane Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma Group.

Andrew has presented his research at both national and international scientific meetings and conferences. Previously a Research Physiotherapist at the University of Warwick, Andrew has both taught and examined on the Orthopaedic component of the Medicine degree.

You may have heard Andrew talk about Red Flags on The Physio Matters Podcast (Episode 51) – check it out to find out more about the course or visit www.spinalredflags.co.uk to see the course outline.

Who is this course suitable for?

Due to the changing nature of MSK service delivery, this course is suitable for all musculoskeletal practitioners. It will be particularly useful to first contact practitioners, aspiring Advanced Practice clinicians within MSK/Orthopaedic triage or experienced APPs looking for an update.

Case studies are used to aid transfer of theory into practice with a focus on the development of Clinical Reasoning. There is a strong focus on ‘Systems Thinking’ to help clinicians identify those non-Musculoskeletal conditions that may be masquerading as such.

Delegates are updated with regard to:
