Overview

This 1.5 day course is for physiotherapists and occupational therapists who wish to improve their systems control knowledge, clinical reasoning and clinical confidence in neurorehabilitation. The course will include relevant neurophysiology, e.g. systems control, update on current understanding of postural and movement control with clinical application, and underpinning rationales for treatment. There will be two clinical workshops with clinical reasoning discussion and shared learning.

    Course Aims

The course will include a theoretical section, including:

    • Systems control update, including revision of relevant neuroscience of postural and movement control, and relevance to clinical issues
    • Discussion of relevant evidence supporting therapeutic interventions

    Learning Outcomes

The practical sessions will explore movement analysis, movement control, and intervention skills and progressions related to the clinical workshops.

There will be 2 clinical workshops to apply the theory and movement control aspects of the course into a clinical context, with associated clinical reasoning.

      Who will Benefit

The course is suitable for qualified PT’s, particularly those working in neurological rehabilitation, and while it is helpful to have attended previous BBTA courses, it is not a pre-requisite.
