Move for Health Kids

Move for Health Kids, part of our current Move for Health campaign, aims to help children be more active and improve their diet.

Amid increasing concerns about children's lack of physical activity and poor diet and the impact this has on health and wellbeing, the CSP recognises that families need support to make the best decisions about children's lifestyles.

The Society has teamed up with the British Dietetic Association (BDA) for the Move for Health Kids campaign to provide parents, carers and teachers with straightforward, professional advice to help children be more active and eat more healthily.

Fit for the Future

The CSP and the BDA worked together to produce a new leaflet - Fit for the Future - packed with simple advice and ideas on how children can fit more exercise into their day and eat a healthy diet.

And you can also download a copy of the CSP's campaign report Fit for the Future: how healthy and active are our children? which gives details about the rise in obesity amongst UK children, as poor diet and lack of exercise take their toll.

Healthy school days 2010

In 2010 and 2009 the CSP worked in partnership with the British Dietetic Association to run Healthy School Day events in primary schools across the UK, as part of Move for Health Kids.

Aimed at 4-10 year olds, the events provided an opportunity for physiotherapists and dietitians to work together to help parents and teachers to maximise children’s health and wellbeing through a series of fun and interactive sessions. The events proved popular with CSP members and were welcomed by headteachers, parents and the children who took part.
