Training for safety reps

All our courses are designed so you develop the knowledge, skills and confidence that will enable you to fulfil your role as CSP safety rep to best effect.

Training for safety reps is offered through specific CSP-designed courses and through the TUC. These include:

  • 2 day Safety Reps Induction Course (residential and non-residential options are offered)
  • TUC Health & Safety Courses Stages 1 & 2
  • TUC short courses on specific topics
  • Regional Training Days

Attending a CSP safety reps training course allows you to meet other safety reps where you can network, discuss your experiences as a safety rep, workshop issues that are of common concern and practice your safety reps' skills in a safe, supportive environment.

We strongly encourage safety reps to attend the induction training as soon as possible after election and participate in the regional training days (these are sometimes held jointly with stewards).

Regional training days are devoted to both skills-based training and addressing issues of local relevance. Details of your regional training days can be obtained from your Senior Negotiating Officer.

Further information on the courses available can be obtained from our Enquiry Handling Unit. Please phone on 020 7306 6666 or email
