Brixham physio assistant wins national award

CSP press release published on 22 January 2009

Beverley Tonks, a physiotherapy assistant at Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay, has been named Assistant of the Year

Beverley, 49, from Brixham, Devon, was described by her colleague Joan Bennetts, as “a professional with outstanding qualities”.

Joan went on to say, “She is always willing to go the extra mile and gives more than a hundred percent to all her patients. Her ability to intuitively engage with patients when they are most in need means she’s able to develop a good rapport with people. Her positive attitude inspires many to achieve more than they ever thought possible.”

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Awards 2008 celebrate the achievement of chartered physiotherapists who are delivering excellent services to patients, pushing the boundaries of practice, and engaging in research to the benefit of the profession. The awards were presented at a ceremony on 24 November 2008 at the Hotel Russell, London.
