Patients forced to put up with the pain or pay for private care

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has responded to an article on page 9 of the 27 March 2012 Evening Standard.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, (CSP) which two weeks ago called for the Government's Health Bill to be dropped, has today confirmed it had not been invited to attend a meeting with the Government to discuss changes to the Bill, at Downing Street on Monday 20 February.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) called today for the withdrawal of the Health and Social Care Bill saying the Government has failed to take its last chance to make the radical changes needed.

More than 240 physiotherapists, students and support workers will be meeting in Manchester next week to discuss issues facing the profession.

Following Stephen Dorrell’s comments this morning, Phil Gray, Chief Executive of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), said: “Mr Dorrell is correct. We have clear evidence of ‘salami slicing’ to physiotherapy services which is damaging patient care as pointed out by the Health Select Committee in their report."
