Campaigns

The CSP runs various awareness campaigns to highlight the difference that physiotherapy can make to people's lives.

Lobby a Lord

The Health and Social Care Bill that will transform the NHS as we know it is currently in its Committee stage in the House of Lords.

Peers will be debating the Bill until mid-January and this is our opportunity to get changes implemented to ensure the Bill is as good as it can be before it becomes law.

We have sent briefings about the CSP's position to many peers, asking them to raise the issues we are most concerned about.

Now it's your chance to voice your concerns to a member of the House of Lords.

Move for Health

Move for Health is our main, current campaign. With public health issues such as obesity and disease prevention very much on the current health agenda, physios have a golden opportunity to position the profession as one with a wide role to play in encouraging healthy lifestyles, particularly through exercise.

In a nutshell, Move for Health will:

  • encourage people to take up appropriate exercise and increase their physical activity levels
  • promote physiotherapists as experts on physical activity/exercise and preventing ill health
  • show that physiotherapy is about far more than treating existing illness and injury

Move for Health is a long-term, integrated campaign, bringing together PR and media work, information distribution, CSP member-led events, policy and influencing work, and online communications, with regular bursts of promotional activity.

Fit for Work

Being Fit for Work is the main focus of our campaign this year. Employment plays a big part in keeping people healthy and just going out to work has both physical and mental benefits. Moreover, physios can help with health problems aggravated by work, whether in the office or by more manual and active types of occupation.

Move for Health Kids

The campaign has also focused on children with Move for Health Kids, which aims to help them be more active and improve their diet.

The CSP works in partnership with the British Dietetic Association (BDA) on the Move for Health Kids initiative, including the promotion of 'Healthy School Day' events.
