Independent and voluntary sectors

Having the skill to effectively market your service to the right audiences may be the key to the survival of your service.

Target audiences

Physiotherapists and physiotherapy staff should consider what their directors or operations line managers actually know about their services and the contribution they make to the organisation.

These people are your influencers and may also be decision-makers. You may need to market physiotherapy to them.

They certainly know the details of the budget and probably the number of staff; but do these influencers know exactly how physiotherapy can help people and how effective your services are?

Physiotherapists are the best people to market physiotherapy, as they fully understand its benefits and are passionate about their profession.

Increasingly there is scope for the independent and voluntary sectors to provide services to the NHS. You need to consider how you can do that. See the NHS pages for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
