Nearly 500 members got involved in Older People’s Day on 1 October by hosting promotional events in a variety of locations – ranging from supermarkets to doctor’s surgeries.

And many more got involved by using social media to promote how physiotherapy can help reduce the risk of falling.

Physiotherapists Suzanne Maddison and Rachel Ready hosted an event at their local supermarket in Chelmsford, Essex.

They promoted exercise and physical wellbeing to older people and offered walking aid checks.

‘The supermarket team was very supportive and keen to assist the local community,’ said Ms Maddison.

‘CSP’s promotional pack was very eye-catching and I wouldn’t hesitate to encourage other members to get out into their local community to promote physiotherapy.’

Members who organised events are being invited to submit feedback on the campaign, and be in with a chance of winning a £200 shopping voucher, by visiting:
