The society is particularly keen to hear about problems in recruiting physiotherapists to particular grades and clinical specialities.

Kate Moran, head of employment research at the CSP, said there had been cuts to the number of training places for physiotherapists in past years and some managers have reported struggling to recruit staff. ‘We want to know more following the anecdotal evidence we have heard,’ she said.

The CSP has long argued that seven-day services must be properly resourced. ‘The survey is designed to find out whether there are sufficient resources and additional staff in areas where seven-day services are being introduced,’ she said.

All managers of physiotherapy services with responsibility for recruitment are invited to log in and complete the managers' survey.

‘I strongly encourage members to complete the survey – the higher the response rate, the more credible for evidence,’ said Ms Moran.

The survey is open until Friday 27 March.
