The CSP has developed a selection of tools allowing you to calculate how much money preventiative physiotherapy can save against the cost of falls.

You can quickly publicise the savings by sharing the infographic (above) with colleagues or on social media, before exploring the data in more detail.

On the cost of falls webpage you can see the savings for your region, and download the full falls prevention economic model which shows:

  • Across Northern Ireland falls leave 70,418 people in A&E
  • If everyone 65+ at risk of falling was referred to physiotherapy 5,700 falls would be prevented, saving the NHS £8.2 million every year
  • Every £1 spent on physiotherapy produces a £1.50 return on investment

Visit the the cost of falls webpage to explore the evidence in full.
