30 October 2013 - 4:46pm

Physiotherapy staff who have improved patient care can now gain the recognition they deserve, by entering the 2014 Advancing Healthcare awards.

File 119494The UK-wide awards are open to allied health professionals (AHPs), health scientists and those who work with them in support roles.

The awards aim to reward and recognise the often unsung achievements of professionals who lead innovative healthcare practice.

This year the Allied Health Professions Federation has pledged to promote all shortlisted and winning entrants.

It is also sponsoring a new category, the Allied Health Professions Federation award for integrated care delivery, to reflect the drive across the UK for delivering joined up care across the NHS and social care.

Leadership and innovation

The Welsh Government is also sponsoring a new category to recognise innovative approaches to preventing disease and improving health.

Additionally, after a year’s break, the Chief Health Professions Officer’s award for Clinical Leadership is making a return. This award recognises the achievements of AHPs, at any stage of their careers, who demonstrate outstanding leadership.

The judging panel for the awards is made up of healthcare professionals, sponsors and past programme winners.

The deadline for entries is 17 January 2014 and the winners will be announced at an awards lunch on 11 April.

The awards are organised by events and marketing specialists Chamberlain Dunn.
