The award is based on student ratings for teaching, facilities and overall satisfaction as assessed by the Sunday Times and The Times. It also takes into consideration the most recent research assessments, graduate prospects and course entry standards.

The physiotherapy BSc programme is taught at the university’s schools of healthcare sciences.

Sue Richardson, professional head for physiotherapy, told Frontline: ‘It’s a fantastic achievement and truly reflects the hard work of all staff involved in the programme.

‘The new school of healthcare sciences incorporates the work of the former schools of nursing and midwifery and healthcare studies, offering students a robust body of knowledge across nine fields in healthcare.’

Elizabeth Evans, a senior lecturer and inter-professional education lead at the schools of healthcare sciences, said: ‘It takes a long time to build that reputation - I know we can hang on to it.’
