CSP Scotland conference launches new legal guide

12 September 2012 - 1:00am

CSP and Thompsons Solicitors publish Physiotherapists and the Court, a new guide available to download below

The new guide has been developed by the CSP in association with Thompsons Solicitors, providing an overview of the Scottish legal system and the involvement of physiotherapists.

Whether CSP members choose to provide expert opinion in the courts, or are required to give evidence, the experience can be daunting.

The guide sets out information to help physiotherapists who act as expert witnesses, or clinicians who are asked to provide assessment and treatment information on their patients or become involved in court processes.

It applies specifically to the Scottish legal system and does not reflect the legal system of England and Wales. The guide is intended to be a living document which can evolve over time, remain accessible and updated, providing the basis for peer support for CSP members in Scotland.
