Injection audit facility tool launched

27 June 2011 - 12:53pm

Physios who use injection therapy have a new tool to audit their practice.

The audit facility is available on the website of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy (ACPOMIT).

It allows ACPOMIT members to audit their work in a variety of ways, with graphs and charts being automatically generated. It includes a dedicated section of the website for logging injections and outcomes. Information can also be shared among members.

‘If members agree to share their data, they will be able to form audit groups so teams can audit their collective outcomes, producing reports and presentations that may be useful in supporting their practice to commissioners,’ said ACPOMIT public relations officer Nick Livadas.

‘The shared data will allow an audit of injection therapy practice within the ACPOMIT membership that may help members decide on best practice for individual conditions,’ he added.
