It was also named one of the Top 10 health apps in the world, in a recent poll by The Sunday Times.
The app was released by UK charity BackCare and is designed to help alleviate back pain and educate users about back care.
Search facility
Users can search by postcode for their closest qualified back care professional. The database provides contact details and directions via Google maps.
The system allows users to diarise their symptoms and send the information directly to practitioners. It also provides factsheets, illustrations and exercise videos and is free to download.
Five star reviews
Sean McDougall, acting chief executive of BackCare, said: ‘The app has been getting five star reviews ever since it appeared.’
‘Best of all, it is free and offers benefits to people in all levels of society. It enables information about back pain and its prevention to be available in people's pockets,’ he said.
