HPC renewal of registration imminent

1 March 2008 - 11:25am

A reminder to all physiotherapists wishing to re-register with the HPC to do so before the renewal deadline on 30 April 2008

If you have not yet signed and returned your HPC registration renewal form with payment to the Health Professions Council, now is the time to do so. The deadline of 30 April 2008 is fast approaching.
Those of you who have not received a registration renewal form from the HPC to complete and return should telephone the HPC urgently to ensure a form is sent to you or request a copy via their website.

Remember, those of you who pay the HPC registration fee by direct debit must still sign and return the renewal form to ensure you retain your HPC registration.

If the HPC does not receive your payment and renewal form by the date given, your registration will be lapsed. Your name will no longer appear on the HPC register and you will not be able to use the protected title of physiotherapist. The HPC will write to you to tell you that your registration has lapsed and they will also write to your employer.  If lapsed, and you want to be registered again, you will need to complete a readmission form and this may incur an additional charge.

If you do not wish to renew your registration, and you currently pay your fee by direct debit, you must contact the HPC before the first instalment date as well as telling your bank that you wish to cancel the direct debit instruction. You must notify the HPC in writing that you wish to come off the register, including a declaration stating that you are not aware of any matter which could give rise to an allegation being made against you.

Reminder: the 1 May 2008 - 30 April 2010 HPC registration cycle is the one during which physiotherapists may be audited to check compliance with the HPC CPD standards. Please ensure that you are fulfilling the HPC CPD standards so that, in the event that you are audited near the end of the cycle, you will be able to demonstrate how you have met these standards.  Advice and support about HPC CPD standards is available from the CSP.

Full details about the HPC renewal process and the HPC CPD standards are available from the HPC website link below.
