TUC releases report showing the difference unions make to the health and safety culture within the workplace

The most effective tool in ensuring good health and safety at work is trade unions, because organised workplaces are safer workplaces. Health and safety is one of the main reasons people join a union. According to the TUC, when asked 70% of new trade union members considered health and safety a 'very important' trade union issue - more even than for pay.
