Membership for overseas-qualified physios

The transition into the UK health care system can be difficult. This page offers services and resources to support you through the process.

There are more than 3,000 CSP members who qualified abroad before settling in the UK.

Qualified physiotherapists who are registered with the HCPC can go into the full qualified category and those whose registration is not yet complete can go into the associate category in accordance with certain criteria.

If you work in the NHS you can raise work-related concerns with your workplace steward. To find out how to make contact with your steward you can call the CSP Enquiries Team (ET) on 020 7306 6666, or email

Members not employed within the NHS can also benefit from union support. Contact our Enquiries Team on 020 7306 6666 or email for assistance.

Many members also share experiences and learning on the Overseas Qualified iCSP network. Joining and contributing can be a valuable source of peer support.
