In November this year, the CSP is hosting the 4th European Physiotherapy Congress which is organised by the European Region of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (ER-WCPT). The Congress title is Advancing Physiotherapy: Demonstrating Value and Impact.
There will be sessions on 'the patient voice', 'interdisciplinary engagement' and 'what does making an impact mean?' and it is important to have the physiotherapy assistant voice heard and represented in all these areas.
If you are asking yourself – 'Is this event relevant for me as a physiotherapy assistant?' – the answer is 'Yes, it most definitely is!'
In addition, there will be a breakfast workshop held on 12 November which covers a hot topic very relevant to physiotherapy assistants – details will be made available over the coming weeks.
As CSP associate members are quite a diverse group, the sessions covering topics such as 'mobility across Europe' and 'entry into practice' will also be of interest to many of you.
So, overall the congress will provide a great platform to listen, to learn, to discuss and to network with colleagues from the UK and across Europe as well as enjoy the buzz of an international congress.
The Scientific Committee is currently working hard to put together an attractive programme for physiotherapists across all sectors and roles as well as associates and students. Watch out for the draft programme which will become available at the beginning of April and early bird bookings are available now until 27 June.
And last but not least, there will be a fabulous social programme: every delegate is invited to join the free welcome reception held in the impressive St George's Hall on the evening before the congress starts. The congress dinner will be a great place to catch up with old friends and make new ones – and to dance along to some classic Beatles tunes.
The CSP may never have the opportunity to host this international event again so please put the 11/12 November 2016 in your diary and sign up for the congress – all physiotherapy assistants are eligible for a reduced delegate fee. Find out more on our dedicated website: www.liverpool2016.com.
