Nominate your leading colleague

Do you have a colleague working for the health service whose leadership abilities deserve to be featured on a national stage?

If so, you have until 29 June to nominate them for the prestigious 2012 NHS Leadership Recognition Awards.

There are nine categories, including an ‘award for inspiration’ and NHS leader of the year, and the organisers stress that the awards are open to staff at all levels – not just managers or clinicians.

Karen Middleton, chief health professions officer at the Department of Health, said: ‘I see some excellent leadership from allied health professionals (AHPs) - leading service redesign, promoting innovation and enabling staff to keep delivering high quality care in difficult times.

‘It would be fantastic to see some of these leaders recognised for what they do everyday. Do take the time and effort to nominate people - it’s important for those individuals and it’s important that AHPs are recognised as excellent leaders.’
