National Health Action hopes to put up 50 candidates with an NHS link to highlight what it says is the ‘destruction’ of the NHS.
It also wants the Health and Social Care Act to be repealed.
One of its founding members is Dr Richard Taylor, a former consultant physician who was elected as independent MP for Wyre Forest on a ticket of saving his local hospital.
He said: ‘We will be looking for health professionals and informed, articulate patients who know about the NHS and can speak about it and defend it.’
Candidates will not be chosen until next year at the earliest, he said.
