Major data project opens on community services

Physiotherapists working in the community are being urged to take part in the definitive benchmarking exercise for NHS community services.

The NHS Benchmarking Network has launched its first major data collection exercise for community services, collecting evidence on themes including: workforce, service access, finance, quality and outcomes.

CSP professional adviser Steve Tolan said this was a big opportunity for members working in community services to take part in a major benchmarking project.

Many members may not realise their organisations are signed up to the benchmarking network, and those working for organisations not signed up should be able to make a strong case for their organisation to join, he said.

Members of the network gain access to analysed data that allows them to compare their service’s methods and performance with other, similar, services.

Data for the project must be submitted by 16 August, and results will be published in October.
