High profile for CSP’s LGBT campaigners

‘Pride not prejudice’ was the message taken to the streets of London by members of the CSP’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) group.

Physiotherapy staff joined other trade union delegations on WorldPride, a march through central London on 7 July.

It followed the TUC’s annual LGBT conference which backed unanimously a CSP call for increased campaigning on equality and diversity training.

The CSP also spoke out on workplace prejudice, with equalities officer Saraka Keating saying:

‘It’s a concern that research is showing a possible link between a rise in abuse aimed at LGBT workers and the recession.’
