Having a ball at school

Four thousand children across the UK took part in Healthy School Days organised by the CSP last month.

This is the second year that the CSP has joined forces with the British Dietetic Association to run Healthy School Days – as part of CSP’s Move for health campaign. Physios and dieticians visited 23 primary schools to advise children on exercise and nutrition.

Northern Ireland health minister Michael McGimpsey joined in the fun at Taughmonagh Primary School, South Belfast, along with pupils and school principal Janet Douds.

Meanwhile, CSP professional adviser Léonie Dawson led an event at Newlands School in Seaford, East Sussex. Children took part in activities using balloons and frisbees, as well as resistant bands. They also learnt about food and nutrition with exercises such as putting snacks and drinks in sugar-content order.
