Graduates not signed up to talent pools losing out

The CSP has once again urged all unemployed graduates to register with talent pools, set up by the English strategic health authorities, if they are not already registered, and to ensure they re-register every three months.

All those who have graduated from an SHA-commissioned training place since 2006, and are still looking for work, should register.

The pools are used to determine the official level of unemployment among physiotherapy graduates, and because hundreds of graduates have not signed up the figures are completely understated. The Society is seriously concerned that this hinders its ability to campaign on graduate unemployment.

Unemployed graduates are also losing the chance to apply for work. As the stories on this spread show, SHAs are developing work opportunities for graduates which may only be offered to those registered with their talent pools.
