Equine physio is honoured

CSP fellow and long-serving physiotherapist Mary Bromiley, 79, is recognised in this year’s New Year’s Honours list.

She receives an MBE for services to equine sport after a career in physiotherapy which saw her pave the way for chartered physios to work with both horses and riders.

Mrs Bromiley was team physio to the New Zealand equestrian squad at three Olympic Games, and now works with top horse racing trainers including David Pipe and Phillip Hobbs.

Among her many achievements, she established the CSP professional network ACPAT for those working in animal therapy and set up the Downs House Rehabilitation Centre, the first in the world to specialise in the rehabilitation of injured horses and riders.
