Delayed diagnosis on AS

Patients with ankylosing spondylitis are waiting an average of eight years for a diagnosis, according to new research.

The National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society’s study also found that 40 per cent of patients had not seen a physiotherapist in the last 12 months. Consultant rheumatologist Professor Paul Wordsworth said: ‘I hope these worrying figures will be recognised and acted upon.’
