Comment - What is professionalism?

On the eve of the CSP’s annual clinical conference, we’re looking forward to meeting those members who will be at Birmingham next week

It’s always a great opportunity to renew old contacts, make new friends, and learn about what’s new within the profession.

Of course not everyone can be there in person. But you can take part by sending us your questions online, in advance of Saturday’s debate on professionalism.

We hope to select some from these to put to the panel on the day. (See page 16 for details.)

What, for example, should you do if you witness poor care being delivered?

Similarly, what would you do if you were concerned that a resourcing decision might compromise patient safety?

How easy is it for you to own up to and learn from your mistakes? And how could you show you have provided compassionate patient care?

You can follow the event on Twitter using the hash tag #physio13. Why not reflect on the tweets and record your responses on CSP’s e-Portfolio as part of your continuing professional development?

Wherever you are – even if it’s the other side of the world – do take part!
